Bach broadened his composing and performing beyond the liturgy by taking over, in March 1729, the directorship of the Collegium Musicum, a secular performance ensemble started by Telemann. This was one of the dozens of private societies in the major German-speaking cities that were established by musically active university students; these societies had become increasingly important in public musical life and were typically led by the most prominent professionals in a city. In the words of Christoph Wolff, assuming the directorship was a shrewd move that "consolidated Bach's firm grip on Leipzig's principal musical institutions". [69] Every week the Collegium Musicum would give two-hour performances in winter at the Café Zimmermann, a coffeehouse on Catherine Street off the main market square; and during the summer months in the proprietor's outdoor coffee garden just outside the town walls, near the East Gate. The concerts, all free of charge, ended with Gottfried Zimmermann's death in 1741. Apart from showcasing his earlier orchestral repertoire such as the Brandenburg Concertos and Orchestral Suites, many of Bach's newly composed or reworked pieces were performed for these venues, including parts of his Clavier-Übung ( Keyboard Practice), his violin and keyboard concertos and of course the eponymous Coffee Cantata. The " Gunpowder Empires" were a group of three empires that emerged in the late medieval and early modern periods and are known for their use of gunpowder weapons and their cultural and technological achievements. These empires include: The position was offered to Bach only after it had been offered first to Georg Philipp Telemann and then to Christoph Graupner, both of whom chose to stay where they were – Telemann in Hamburg and Graupner in Darmstadt – after using the Leipzig offer to negotiate improved conditions of employment. [59] [60] In 1733, Bach composed a Kyrie–Gloria Mass in Bminor which he later incorporated in his Mass in B minor. He presented the manuscript to the Elector in an eventually successful bid to persuade the prince to give him the title of Court Composer. [71] He later extended this work into a full mass by adding a Credo, Sanctus, and Agnus Dei, the music for which was partly based on his own cantatas and partly original. Bach's appointment as Court Composer was an element of his long-term struggle to achieve greater bargaining power with the Leipzig council. Between 1737 and 1739, Bach's former pupil Carl Gotthelf Gerlach held the directorship of the Collegium Musicum.the United States has emitted more CO 2 than any other country to date: at around 400 billion tonnes since 1751, it is responsible for 25% of historical emissions; Top Level Budgetary Area ( TLB) The major organisational groupings of the MOD directly responsible for the planning, management and delivery of departmental capability. Johann Sebastian Bach [n 2] (31 March[ O.S. 21 March]1685–28 July 1750) was a German composer and musician of the late Baroque period. He is known for his orchestral music such as the Brandenburg Concertos; instrumental compositions such as the Cello Suites; keyboard works such as the Goldberg Variations and The Well-Tempered Clavier; organ works such as the Schubler Chorales and the Toccata and Fugue in D minor; and vocal music such as the StMatthew Passion and the Mass in Bminor. Since the 19th-century Bach revival, he has been generally regarded as one of the greatest composers in the history of Western music. [2] [3] Ye HH, Jeong JU, Jeon MJ, Sakong J. Sometimes these were established empires such as the Byzantines, toppled by the Ottomans, or Mali, which was subjugated by Songhai. Other times these were the descendants of nomadic conquerors, such as the Timurid Empire in Persia, conquered by the Safavids, or the Yuan Dynasty in China, overthrown by the future leaders of the Ming Dynasty. In 1719, Bach made the 35-kilometre (22mi) journey from Köthen to Halle with the intention of meeting Handel; however, Handel had left the town. [48] [49] In 1730, Bach's oldest son, Wilhelm Friedemann, travelled to Halle to invite Handel to visit the Bach family in Leipzig, but the visit did not take place. [50]

British History Timeline

The Tokugawa Shogunate, also known as the Edo period, was a period in Japanese history that lasted from 1603 to 1868. It was a time of relative peace and stability, marked by the centralization of power under the Tokugawa Shogunate, a hereditary military dictatorship that ruled Japan during this time. The shogunate was established by Tokugawa Ieyasu, who emerged as the dominant power in Japan after the end of the Sengoku period and was appointed shogun by the emperor.

Now you have replaced the difficult multiplication with two simple multiplications and a subtraction: Land-based empires often expand through military conquests, as they seek to gain control over new territories and resources. This can be accomplished through the use of force, as well as through diplomacy and trade. Some empires may also expand through colonization, by establishing colonies or settlements in new territories and establishing their control over them. During the Tokugawa Shogunate, Japan underwent significant economic and cultural development. The economy became more centralized and industrialized, and the arts, including literature, theater, and the tea ceremony, flourished. The shogunate also established a system of legal codes and administered justice through a network of local officials and courts. The Tokugawa Shogunate ended in 1868, when the Meiji Restoration restored power to the emperor and ended the shogunate's rule.
