I devoured it in one sitting, was entertained the entire time, and I haven’t read a book that’s quite this steamy in awhile – plus that original, awful cover was swapped out before release day.If jealous/possessive heroes aren’t for you, then you might want to pass on this one, but it certainly made for some super steamy situations. His hope was that it would solidify his position as a valuable member of the Mayor's staff when she eventually ran for governor. please this girl is so down bad for her brother that she forgot who PAID for the vacation 😭 petition to change Taylor's career into being a caretaker for her brother. On a hunch, I'd go with no, but I'm a practical person who's also a closeted dreamer, and I like to think we're all redeemable, somehow.

Our heroine is second-grade teacher Taylor Bassey, who decides to take her brother on a beach vacation to cheer him up after his favorite panda (from the panda sanctuary he works at) dies of old age. romantic suspense is my all time favourite romance subgenre, so i was excited to see how TB would handle it. And when it came to that murder mystery—the reason I was so excited for this to begin with—I was disappointed there too. at another point he acts like they are soulmates because he was choking her but they get interrupted and quickly look at each other and nod their agreement that they are still cool.i for the life of me can't understand why there are so many 4-star and 5-star ratings for this book.

At first, this girl was testing my patience from the way she babied her grown-ass 23-year-old brother. This bad boy parks his motorcycle and his tattoos right in front of our delicate flower (becaue of course she's impressed by the tattoos and the bike and the broody aura and the massive mountain of muscles he OBVIOUSLY is sporting)'s rental house, sees her, and immediately thinks "I got to open her up like an oyster". If you liked Tessa Bailey's style in My Killer Vacation then you have to check out her other novel, Fix Her Up. I mean, this all depends on personal taste - and no shaming here - but I was cringing during some of the sex scenes we got.There's a lot to love about My Killer Vacation, it has the grumpy-sunshine trope, it takes place on vacation, and it has a bit of mystery. I've stopped reading after they started getting too fond of each and the unsexiest dirty talk made an appearence once again, so I can't tell you if it got better after this. So what i was imagining is him just stopping mid conversation and kneeling before her to lick her stomach. I really liked the mystery aspect in the book, it was fun trying to solve the crime along with the characters.

Not to compare Taylor with Piper from IHOS, but my main issue with that book and Piper was, how amazing her personality and character growth was going up until the 3rd act conflict where Piper reverted back to her old selfish self, meaning all that "growth" just went to waste. It will take the frosty terrain of the Arctic to show these rival scientists that their chemistry burns hot. When Taylor Bassey arrives in Cape Cod on vacation with her brother, all she wants is to take a bath in the clawfoot tub and relax.I also liked the introduction of their childhood friend, although he somehow vanished after a few pages. Also why, if all he thinks about how he shouldn't fuck her and then he just goes and licks her stomach?
